HOW TO CONFIGURE USER ACCOUNT CONTROL SETTINGS
Microsoft Windows systems uses User Account Control (UAC) feature to protect processes within your device by limiting application software to standard user privileges. This is achieved through requesting consent of a user during execution of an application software. It ensures only applications trusted by the user have administrative privileges. Prompts are generated to notify the user when an attempt to alter Windows settings is made. Only an administrative user can elevate the privileges of an application software.
How to configure user account control settings on Windows devices
- Click on the search icon and search for User Account Control on the search bar
- Select Change User Account Control settings in the results.
- If you wish to turn UAC off, drag the slider down to Never notify and click OK.
- If you wish to turn UAC on, drag the slider up to the desired level of security and click OK. Key in the administrator password when requested for confirmation
- Reboot your computer for the change to take effect.
